The players are divided into two teams to compete against each other. While the timer is set to about 30 seconds (its the host’s call how long the entire thing should last) both teams will struggle against one another to dress the baby in the best, most complete and neatest way that they can. Their final products will be judged on the three categories. The team that does it best after the allotted time wins!

Why do most most of my friends love the ideas of making baby shower footprint invitations?
There is nothing more special than the birth of a child. The baby shower is one of the most exciting times for a new mum. It’s the baby shower that celebrates the joy and anticipated arrival of the little bundle of joy!

Footprints have always been symbolic with the birth of a baby. At the hospital, one of the first things they do after the birth is cover the babies little tootsies in the black ink and stamp it on a card.

Baby shower footprint invitations have gained popularity though the years. If you know the gender of the baby (and mum is okay with everyone else knowing), you can create some elegant baby shower invitations in the appropriate pink or blue colors. If the baby’s gender is unknown then the traditional yellow and green will work fine too.

Your choices are endless starting with the basic design for the shower invitation.

Here are a few ideas:

• You will need coloured blank note cards. On the inside of the note card write all the baby shower information. On the outside out the card, you can decorate it several ways with a basic footprint (craft stores sell footprint stamps) and use a thin piece of lace or ribbon along the outside of the invitation to dress it up. You can also trace a footprint on the invitations and use glitter to outline the footprint a write a small poem inside the footprint.

• Another idea for baby shower footprint invitations is to buy the smallest baby socks you can find (color appropriate). Use a small piece of poster board trace the bottom of the sock, then cut it out and slip the board in to the sock so it takes the shape of a sock. Write the party information on a small piece of paper and slip it in the sock. Attach a number of baby decorations to a thin string and attach it. When the baby is born, the guest can write the baby’s name and birth date on the little sock and keep it as a memento.

• You might also consider making a baby shower invitation out of foam in the shape of a footprint and make a photo frame out of it Just use two pieces of colored foam trace and cut them in to the shape of the footprint. Cut a small hole either square or circular in the center and place a piece of see though plastic in it and write the information on a small piece of paper and slip it in. You can use craft glue to hold the frame together, then when the guest get a picture of the baby they can just slip it right in the frame invitation.
